STORY OF BABBI'S KITCHEN
Babbi’s Kitchen was inspired by a treasured family recipe passed down by my mother’s uncle, a talented chef who worked in one of Colombo’s leading Chinese restaurants in Sri Lanka. Around 2010–2012, he taught my mother his special chilli paste recipe known for its bold heat, rich aroma, and deep umami flavor.
What started as a homemade recipe shared with family and friends slowly became a passion. Over the years, my mother perfected every detail while preserving the authentic taste and care behind it.
In 2026, we decided to bring that same homemade flavor to more people by starting Babbi’s Kitchen. While our signature chilli paste is where our journey begins, it’s only the start of many more homemade creations to come.
